A. The access to each reading room of the library requires relevant credentials based on the Civilization Convention for Readers, which is to be consciously observed.

B. The readers are supposed to take care of the books and literature in the library, and not to scribble or damage them. Any case of scribbling or damages will be dealt with according to the Literature Compensation Approach of Hunan University Library.

C. Without permission from the librarians, no books or literature is allowed to be taken out of the reading room. Under special circumstances when documents are to be borrowed out of the library, relevant certificates from the borrower's work place and approval of the chief curator are required. The books or literature borrowed is expected to be returned in due time and any case of overdue will be dealt with according to Measures for the Handling of Overdue Books & Literature in the Hunan University Library.

D. In case that some documents shall be copied, the reader needs to register and leave his/her credential to the librarian in exchange for the permission of taking the book out of the reading room for copy. Once copied, the book should be returned before the next shift of the librarian and any case of overdue will be dealt with according to Measures for the Handling of Overdue Books & Literature in the Hunan University Library.

E. Computers in the reading room are only for inquiry and retrieval. Any use of personal CDs or floppy disks is not allowed. In case of machine failure, please contact the library workers and do not take down the machine without permission.

F. For the benefits of the general readers, please do not occupy seats for anyone not in the library.
