Hunan University, along with other 19 famous Chinese universities, such as Peking University, Fudan University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shandong University and Xi'an Foreign Languages Institute, has been authorized as the examination center for BCT.

BCT is a state-level standard test meant to assess the Chinese proficiency of non-native speakers engaged in business activities. BCT is developed under the entrustment of the Office of Chinese Language Council International. Focusing on practical abilities and communication skills, BCT assesses the examinees' ability to effectively communicate in Chinese in business, daily life and social interactions.

Hunan University is the sole host of this test in Hunan Province.
