The China Society of World Economics (CSWE) held an international trade symposium at HNU on May 28, 2021. The symposium was hosted by CSWE, and organized by HNU School of Economics and Trade and the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Research Institute. HNU Vice President Xie Chi attended. There were more than 120 participators from over 30 higher learning institutions, research institutions, publishing houses, and editorial offices of periodicals.

HNU Vice President Xie Chi addresses the symposium.

Vice President Xie introduced HNU’s leapfrog development in recent years and disciplinary development plan. He underlined HNU-style education – a development pattern featuring both “localization” and “internationalization” view, and multidisciplinary integration. Standing at a newhistorical starting point, HNU will shoulder new missions of the era, push forward academic research on international trade, and contribute to the high-quality development of trade under the new development paradigm featuring dual circulation, in which domestic and overseas markets reinforce each other, with the domestic market as the mainstay.

At the symposium.

Dozens of experts and scholars lectured on the topics including “industrial and supply chain development under the new development paradigm featuring dual circulation”, and “free trade zone construction and trade cooperation”. Four expert forums were held, and nearly 20 expert lectures were given. The participators exchanged views from the perspectives of “global economic and trade order changes and economic growth”, “global value chain reconstruction and trade gains”, “industrial polices and exports transformation and upgrading”, and “asset structure and economic fluctuation”.

The symposium enhanced exchanges and collaboration among experts and scholars in the fields of international trade and world economy, and made contributions to improving international trade and world economy research and internationalization level, and cultivating international trade talents in Chinese universities.
