摘要:Biomass samples were used as bio-templates to produce various functional materials for the uses in water treatments to eliminate pollutants. The processes involved physio-soprtion; chemi-sorption, or/and catalysis as well. In this talk, we will present some of the samples that we have fabricated, and their properties. We will propose possible kinetics, thermodynamics, and mechanisms that may involve during the services of the samples in the water treatments.

报告人简介:

Professor Dickon H. L. Ng is the Chairman of the Physics Department at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He graduated from the University of Manitoba (Canada) and worked in the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford as a postdoctoral research assistant. In 1991, he joined the Chinese University as lecturer. He was appointed as the Associate Dean (Student Affairs) in the Faculty of Science in 2008. He became the Head of the Department in 8/2015. Professor Ng has a wide range of experience in materials science research. His areas of interest cover magnetic materials, ceramic and composites. Currently, he mainly focuses on the development of functional materials and their applications in water treatments and energy saving.
