Purpose
The coursemainlydeals withthe development of twentieth century history of Western art. through comparative analysis of theArtistic positionsofvarious schools of artand personal styles of different artists, students get to know the evolution of modern Western art, recognizing the close relationship between the development of modern art and politics, economics, philosophy as well as ordinary human life, and realizing thefundamentaltransformation of western art from tradition to modernization ,which on one side lays a foundation for students to accept the new concept of art, and on the other side enhances their appreciation of modern art.
