Course Introduction
The Graduation Project is a project-based capstone session at the end of the Industrial Design program. In this session, students will, under a one-to-one instruction of supervisor, go through a complete design process (including research, analysis, modeling, and prototyping) of a qualified design project, deliver and present the final design work at the Graduation Exhibition, and pass the Graduation Defense. The design project should derive from either an academic program funded by research institutions, or a business program funded by enterprises. If needed, students can work off-campus during the project with the permission of supervisor. In the mid-term of the session, students are required to present a progress status report of the project. At the end of the session, students are required to present his/her final deliverables in the public Graduation Exhibition and pass the Graduation Defense to acquire the degree. The Graduation Project is a session where teachers give a final check on 1) whether students have systematically grasped the knowledge, methods, and tools of Industrial Design; 2) whether students are able to independently define, analyze, and solve the Industrial Design problems; and 3) whether students meet the academic requirement of Industrial Design degree.
