Abstract: Energy efficiency in buildings has become a global issue for facility managers, building owners/operators, designers, contractors and building occupants; while indoor environment quality should also be put on the priority due to its impact on health, comfort and people’s performance. This talk will first discussion on a few major problems/barriers of the current building operation to achieve the energy efficiency and good indoor environment quality. Then some recent research and development will be introduced to address the issues at system/equipment level, building level and the district level.

Speaker: Dr Yang Junjing received her PhD in Building from National University of Singapore, Msc from the University of Reading, UK; and BEng from Tongji Unviersity. She is now a Research Fellow at Centre for Integrated Building Energy and Sustainability in Tropics at NUS. Dr. Yang has rich research and application experiences in Building energy efficiency and sustainability, ventilation and indoor air quality, and she has been an invited speaker and lecturer in these areas both in Singapore and overseas. Dr. Yang has more than 35 publications in several prestigious International Journals and conference proceedings. She is the editorial board member of Journal of Sustainable energy and the guest editor for Energy and Building Journal Special Issue and the invited guest editor for Journal of Urban Science.
